The phrase “Skin’s Best Friend” refers to the knowledge that people have about shea butter. The reason why we created the brand, Shea Butter XO.
Shea Butter XO, was established by Marketa and Alena, who wanted to educate others about the importance of skincare.
After working with a renowned holistic medicine expert the Late Prof. Paul Henderson for seven years, Marketa gained a deeper understanding of the healing properties of essential oils. She then focuses on creating high-quality blends. Alena, on the other hand, is a motivational speaker, an energy architect, and a registered holistic aesthetician.
Originally, the goal of Shea Butter XO was to educate people about the skin-nourishing properties of shea butter by making body butter. Through this activity, they were able to prove that it is the skin’s best friend. Today, they have a wide variety of high-quality blends that can be customized.

Undiluted and Non-toxic…
One of the reasons Marketa decided to make Shea body butter blends was the absolute dearth of high-concentration Shea butter products in the market. Some supposed Shea body butters with as low as 20 per cent Shea butter in them. With Marketa’s primary goal of familiarizing people with the boon of a natural skincare that Shea butter is, Shea butter XO blends come with 70 per cent or more of the finest quality Shea butter (Unrefined Grade A) that has been ethically sourced from Ghana, Africa and blend it with other organic ingredients including Cocoa butter, Carrier Oils, Essential Oils and Vitamins. We do not dilute down our Shea butter formulations with cheap oils or synthetic junk. We have a strict policy against using parabens, silicons, artificial fragrances, SLS or any other synthetic and chemically produced ingredients.
Perfectly Proportioned…
All our formulations are centred around Shea butter with no blend having any less than 70 per cent Shea butter in it. The Shea butter is then blended with Cocoa butter to optimize its benefits and with Coconut and Avocado oil to ensure a smoother texture.
Another important factor that requires careful study and consideration is the essential oil ratio. With so many champions of natural wellness out there advocating the countless benefits and uses of all things natural and organic, we know it would be hard for you to believe that nature, when used incorrectly, can be dangerous, especially when thinking of essential oils. Essential oils are highly potent healing forces but using them without a thorough knowledge and proper understanding can be fatal. While some seemingly harmless oils are harmful to pregnant women, others, when used in more than recommended doses,turn toxic.
Shea butter XO issues appropriate warnings if and when desirable.

Temperature Controlled…
Another aspect that plays a key role while creating a Shea butter blend is the temperature. While too much heat can result in considerably diminishing the nutritional value of the butter. It can also lead to reduced healing abilities of other ingredients including Cocoa butter and the carrier and essential oils. Sometimes even rendering the oils absolutely useless. The butter needs to be heated to just the right temperature to blend the oils in.
